Renters (Reform) Bill declared ‘Dead’ ahead of General Election

The Renters (Reform) Bill is dead, according to various tenant groups.

The Renters (Reform) Coalition and Generation Rent, say the Renters (Reform) Bill is unlikely to pass before the General Election.

However, the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill will be debated in the House of Lords today.

Charity calls for stronger protections in Renters (Reform) Bill as renter costs soar

Legal Eagle required for council approved rent to rent contract?

UK rent growth slows after reaching record high – ONS

The UK’s rent inflation is slowing down as average private rents grew by 8.9% in the year to April – down from a record high of 9.2% in March, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reports.

This is the first time the annual rent inflation rate has eased since December 2023.
