Angela Rayner cleared by police over housing allegations

Angela Rayner will not face any further action from Greater Manchester Police over housing allegations, but details of the probe have been passed onto HMRC and Stockport council.  

Ms Rayner faced allegations of avoiding capital gains tax when selling her former council house in 2015 and electoral roll fraud.

Landlord pushes back on media’s negative view of landlords

Why has landlord created leases on parking spaces?

  1. Phase One: 149 flats (140 with leases), built around 2005.
  2. Phase Two: 66 flats (11 with leases). The landlord rents out the rest and has created leases on parking spaces in this phase.

Renters (Reform) Bill declared ‘Dead’ ahead of General Election

The Renters (Reform) Bill is dead, according to various tenant groups.

The Renters (Reform) Coalition and Generation Rent, say the Renters (Reform) Bill is unlikely to pass before the General Election.

However, the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill will be debated in the House of Lords today.

Charity calls for stronger protections in Renters (Reform) Bill as renter costs soar

The Renters (Reform) Bill, currently making its way through the House of Lords, doesn’t go far enough to address the growing financial strain on private renters, the debt charity StepChange warns.

It says the cost of renting in the UK has become increasingly unaffordable and points to new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
